SAYRE CHILD CENTER: PROVIDING QUALITY EARLY EDUCATION AND CARE SINCE 1899
Sayre Child Center has been a provider of early education and care since its establishment in 1899. We proudly rank among the 50 oldest continuously operating programs in the United States. Founded in Bethlehem, we continue to serve families throughout the Lehigh Valley from our original location.
Our dedicated and qualified staff, who average a decade of service with us, care for over 75 children each day. We are committed to offering a warm, nurturing, and developmentally appropriate environment that challenges children to achieve their individual goals and fosters self-confidence as they acquire new skills.
We provide school-age care up to the 5th grade, including flexible “drop-in” options during holiday breaks, in-service days, and inclement weather when public schools are closed. Additionally, we offer full-time summer care for school-age children on a first-come, first-served basis.
The governance of Sayre Child Center is overseen by a Board of Directors responsible for establishing policies for the center. The Board convenes from September to June and includes the President of the center’s PTA.

OUR SCHOOL
We are open Monday to Friday year round, offering care from 6:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. We are a Keystone Star 4 center. Creative Curriculum is the foundation for all lesson plans and activities. We welcome children ages 6 weeks through 5th grade, offer before and after school care and full time summer school age program.
Breakfast, lunch, and afternoon snack provided at no additional family cost.

Our goal is to provide a program where children are treated with respect, encouraged to challenge themselves and their abilities, play and create using imagination, find their individual creativity and learn through hands-on experiences. Our focus is on the journey, the exploration and the discovery each day as we reach those critical milestones.
